Stradivarius

I´m used to listening to VOA Learning English - The Voice of American´s Information Service for people learning English. You can find, all over this website, many good options like podcasts, videos, american stories, news and so on... and I´ve just finished to listen to a very interesting story about a man who was a kind of a car mechanic but he used to play violin, he was married to Dolly, his loved wife, and one day he bought the best and amazing violin in the world -  one Stradivarius...

Unfortunately, many years after, what he called Golden Time, he discovered that his violin was fake. He bought it from a dishonest person. It wasn´t a real Stradivarius...
The end of this story is so unexpected...
Well, I became curious about this brand and I decided to read a little bit more about Stradivarius, and it was amazing what I discovered.
One, just one Stradivarius violin was sold in a bid for 3.6 milllion dollars.... Wow!

"April Fool´s Day" é celebrado em muitos países no dia 1o de Abril todos os anos. Algumas vezes sendo referido como "All Fools´ Day". 1o. de Abril não é feriado nacional, mas é amplamente reconhecido e celebrado como o dia em que as pessoas fazem boatos e lançam boatos umas das outras.
Na Itália, França e Bélgica crianças e adultos tradicionalmente pregam peixes de papel nas costas uns dos outros como um truque e gritam "April Fish" em suas línguas nativas (pesce d'aprile!, poisson d'avril! e aprilvis! na Itália, França e Flamengo respecitivamente).

Bem vindo ao Blog!


Aqui você encontrará diversos sites que venho "colecionando" ao longo de muitos anos e todos eles  me ajudam demais no aprendizado da língua inglesa. Basta acessar o menu acima.
